Debenhams - Meadowhall
Hmm - this isn’t one for the faint stomached - a world record attempt involving chocolate and fast tempo.
The objective of the competition held in Debenhams Meadowhall was to eat 7 Ferrero Roche chocolates in 60 seconds.
The contestants were: Shelley ‘Melt in mouth’ Jones and her opponent Yvonne ‘Queen of the chocolate balls’ Lindfit.
Training was intense with numerous sessions and required major preparation: A huge supply of Ferrero Roche chocolates, a table, 2 chairs and twelve sick bags!
Shelley developed an unwrapping technique second to none, whereas Yvonne stuck to the tried and tested sharp elbow in the ribs.
Staff and customers gathered to support the two ladies in their attempt to beat the world record (7 Ferreros in 60 seconds) by shouting ‘Save some for us!’
It was a close call but of course there is only ever one winner. The Queen of the chocolate balls, Yvonne, consumed 6 Ferrero Roche chocolates, while Shelley managed only 5. Both will need to go back for more training as neither of them broke the world record. We are sure they will next year!!
